Biography

Jasper Pääkkönen is a Finnish actor. Born in Helsinki in 1980, he is the son of actor Seppo Pääkkönen and the nephew of actor Antti Pääkkönen.

He first became known in Finland for playing Saku Salin in the soap opera Salatut elämät (1999–2002). Subsequent Finnish film roles include Bad Boys (2003), Matti: Hell Is for Heroes (2006), Lapland Odyssey (2010) and Heart of a Lion (2013), for which he received a Jussi Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Internationally, Pääkkönen played Halfdan the Black in the television series Vikings (2016–2020) and Felix Kendrickson in Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman (2018). He also appeared in Da 5 Bloods (2020).
