Biography
Jay Patterson is an American actor born on 22 August 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied theatre at Ohio University and acting at the Terry Schreiber Studio in New York.
Patterson made his film debut as W.E. Simmons in Places in the Heart (1984). He has appeared in more than sixty films, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Nobody's Fool (1994), A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014) and Ted 2 (2015). On television he has had recurring roles in the Law & Order franchise and guest appearances in series such as Blue Bloods and Miami Vice.
His stage work includes a Broadway debut in K2 (1983), for which he received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination, as well as later appearances in Inherit the Wind (2007) and understudy roles in other productions.
