Biography

Jeff McCracken is an American actor, director and producer. Born in Chicago on 12 September 1952, he graduated from Evanston Township High School and studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York with Sanford Meisner and others. He served in the United States Air Force and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from Goddard College.

McCracken began his career on stage with the Circle Repertory Company and appeared in films including The One Man Jury (1978), Running Brave (1983) and Waiting for the Light (1990), as well as television series such as Bay City Blues (1983) and JAG (1995). He later moved into producing and directing, co-producing the feature Quiz Show (1994) and directing more than seventy television episodes, among them NYPD Blue (1993), Boy Meets World (1993) and Dinosaurs (1991).
