Biography
Jeff Melvoin is an American television writer, producer and educator. He began his television career in 1983 as a staff writer on the NBC series Remington Steele, later working on Hill Street Blues and serving as supervising producer on Northern Exposure (1991–1995).
Melvoin has been executive producer or showrunner on series including Picket Fences, Early Edition, Alias (2005), Army Wives and Designated Survivor, and executive producer on season three of Killing Eve (2020). He won a Primetime Emmy and two Golden Globe awards for Northern Exposure. He founded and chairs the Writers Guild of America's Showrunner Training Program and has taught at Harvard, USC and UCLA. Before entering television he was a correspondent for TIME magazine.
