Biography
Jenna Coleman, also credited early in her career as Jenna-Louise Coleman, is an English actress. She was born on 27 April 1986 in Blackpool, Lancashire.
Coleman began her career playing Jasmine Thomas in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale (2005–2009). She gained wider recognition for her role as Clara Oswald in the BBC series Doctor Who (2012–2015, with a 2017 appearance), appearing initially under her full name before shortening it professionally. Subsequent leading roles include Queen Victoria in the ITV drama Victoria (2016–2019) and Marie-Andrée Leclerc in the miniseries The Serpent (2021).
Her film work includes a role in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). She received nominations for newcomer awards at the British Soap Awards and National Television Awards for her Emmerdale performance.
