Biography
Jennifer Carpenter is an American actress. She trained at the Walden Theatre Conservatory in Louisville and at the Juilliard School in New York (Drama Division Group 31, 1998–2002). Before completing her studies, she appeared in the 2002 Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's The Crucible.
She first gained wide attention for her performance as the title character in the horror film The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005). Carpenter rose to prominence playing Debra Morgan in the series Dexter (2006–2013) and reprised the role in the miniseries Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022).
Her other credits include White Chicks (2004), Quarantine (2008), Faster (2010), Gone (2012), Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017), Dragged Across Concrete (2019) and voice work as Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020). She has received an MTV Movie Award and a Saturn Award.
