Biography
Jennifer Phang is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. She was born in Berkeley, California, grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and graduated from Pomona College with a BA in Media Studies before earning an MFA in Film Directing from the American Film Institute.
Phang's feature films include the magic-realist drama Half-Life (2008), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and the science-fiction drama Advantageous (2015), also a Sundance premiere that won a Special Jury Award for Collaborative Vision. She has directed episodes of numerous television series, among them The Expanse (2018), Riverdale (2018), The Boys (2019), Marvel's Cloak & Dagger (2018–2019), DC's Stargirl (2020–2022), Foundation (2021) and Resident Alien (2021). In 2024 she directed the Disney+ film Descendants: The Rise of Red.
