Biography
Jerzy Radziwiłowicz is a Polish actor known for his work in film, theatre and television. Born on 8 September 1950 in Warsaw, he graduated from the Faculty of Acting at the National Academy of Theatre in Warsaw in 1972 and began his career on the stage of the Stary Teatr in Kraków.
He gained international recognition for his performances in Andrzej Wajda’s Man of Marble (1977), in which he played Mateusz Birkut and his son Maciek Tomczyk, and the sequel Man of Iron (1981). He has maintained a long collaboration with Wajda and has appeared in films by other directors including Krzysztof Kieślowski’s No End (1985) and Władysław Pasikowski’s Aftermath (2012). Radziwiłowicz is also a professor at the National Academy of Theatre in Kraków and works as a translator.
