Biography
Jesse Williams is an American actor and director. He played Dr. Jackson Avery in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy from 2009 to 2022, with guest appearances in later seasons.
Williams has directed five episodes of Grey's Anatomy, beginning with his debut in season 14, as well as an episode of the series Rebel. He has appeared in films including The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and The Butler (2013).
He received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for the 2022 Broadway revival of Take Me Out, which he also executive produced. Williams served as executive producer on the Academy Award-winning short film Two Distant Strangers (2020).
