Biography
Jessica Harper is an American actress, singer and author. She began her film career with a starring role in Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise (1974) and appeared in Woody Allen's Love and Death (1975).
She is best known for her lead performance as Suzy Bannion in Dario Argento's Suspiria (1977), and later appeared in the 2018 remake. Other notable films include Stardust Memories (1980), Shock Treatment (1981), Minority Report (2002), Bones and All (2022) and Nightbitch (2024), in which she played Norma. Harper trained at Sarah Lawrence College and has written children's books and music albums. She is married to film executive Tom Rothman.
