Biography
Jill Halfpenny is an English actress. She began her career with a regular role as Nicola Dobson in the BBC children's drama Byker Grove (1989–1992) and trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
She is known for her roles as Rebecca Hopkins in Coronation Street (1999–2000), Kate Mitchell in EastEnders (2002–2005), Izzie Redpath in Waterloo Road (2006–2007), Diane Manning in In the Club (2014–2016), Julie Winshaw in Three Girls (2017), and Jennifer Robertson in Liar (2017–2020). Other credits include appearances in Humans (2015), Ghost Stories (2018) and The Long Shadow (2023).
Halfpenny won the second series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004. On stage, she received the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance as Paulette in the West End production of Legally Blonde (2010–2011).
