Biography
Jim Painten was an American film and television producer and production manager. He worked extensively in production supervision and management on television series and films, including episodes of Moonlighting and My So-Called Life, as well as television movies such as Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story (1995).
Painten served as a producer on the 1990 neo-noir film The Grifters, alongside Martin Scorsese and Robert A. Harris. He began his career after studying at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and serving in the Peace Corps in Iran; he later worked on documentary films in New York before moving into television production in Los Angeles.
