Biography
Jimmy Akingbola is a Nigerian-British actor known for work in theatre, television and film. He trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London and began his career on stage, including a TMA Award-winning performance in Blue/Orange and the lead role in a Frantic Assembly production of Othello. He was the first black actor to play Jimmy Porter in Look Back in Anger.
On television he played PC Neil Parker in Holby Blue (2007–2008) and Antoine Malick in Holby City (2011–2016). He appeared as Mick in the BBC sitcom Rev. (2010–2014), for which he received a BEFFTA Award, and has had roles in Arrow (2015–2016) as Baron Reiter, Ted Lasso (2020) and Bel-Air (2022–) as Geoffrey Thompson. He has also presented and produced programmes including Sorry, I Didn't Know.
