Biography
Jimmy Jewel (1909–1995) was an English comedian and actor. Born James Arthur Thomas Jewel Marsh in Sheffield, he began performing in music hall as a child and later formed a long-running double act with his cousin Ben Warriss that lasted 32 years until 1966.
He appeared in numerous stage, radio and television productions, including the sitcom Nearest and Dearest (1968–1973) as Eli Pledge. Later roles included appearances in The Avengers (1968), One Foot in the Grave (1990), Casualty (1991) and Lovejoy (1993). In film he played Cannonball Lee in The Krays (1990) and Ashby Senior in American Friends (1991).
