Biography
Jo Kendall (17 February 1940 – 29 January 2022) was a British actress. She appeared as Annie in the 1992 film Howards End and as the publican's wife in The Remains of the Day (1993). Other film roles include the matron in Scum (1979).
Kendall was known for her work in BBC radio comedy, notably as the only woman in the cast of I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again. On television she played Peggy Skilbeck in the early episodes of Emmerdale Farm (1972–1973), delivering the programme's first line of dialogue. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
