Biography
Joanne Samuel is an Australian actress. She was born on 5 August 1957 in Camperdown, Sydney.
Samuel made her screen debut in 1973 and appeared in guest roles in the police procedurals Matlock Police and Homicide. She was a regular cast member in the soap operas Class of '74, The Sullivans and The Young Doctors. Her character was written out of The Young Doctors to allow her to play Jessie Rockatansky, the wife of Mel Gibson's Max, in the 1979 film Mad Max.
She later appeared in Skyways, The Wiggles Movie (1997) and My Pet Dinosaur (2017). Samuel trained in dance and drama, and has worked as a director and producer.
