Biography
Jobyna Ralston was an American stage and film actress. Born Jobyna Lancaster Raulston in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, she trained at the Ned Wayburn dancing academy in New York before appearing in stage productions and comedy shorts.
She is known for her leading roles opposite Harold Lloyd in seven films, including Why Worry? (1923), Girl Shy (1924), The Freshman (1925) and The Kid Brother (1927). In 1927 she played Sylvia Lewis in Wings, the first film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, and married her co-star Richard Arlen that year. She was named a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1923. Her screen career ended in the early 1930s.
