Biography
Johanna Harwood is an Irish screenwriter. She entered the film industry in 1949 and trained at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques in Paris. She worked as a continuity supervisor on several films in the 1950s before moving into screenwriting.
Harwood received a co-writing credit on the screenplay for Dr. No (1962) and an adaptation credit on From Russia with Love (1963). She also contributed to Call Me Bwana (1963) and wrote the screenplay for the French film Ne jouez pas avec les Martiens (1968). She was sometimes billed as J. M. Harwood or Johanna Clément.
She was married to French film director René Clément from 1986 until his death in 1996.
