Biography
John Brown (4 April 1904 – 16 May 1957) was a British-American actor. Born in Hull, Yorkshire, England, he worked in radio, film and television from the 1930s until his death.
He had prominent radio roles including Al in My Friend Irma, Gillis and Digby “Digger” O’Dell in The Life of Riley (later reprised on television), and “Broadway” in The Damon Runyon Theatre. In film he played Professor Collins in Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train (1951), appeared in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) and The Wild One (1953), and voiced Ro-Man in Robot Monster (1953). He also played Harry Morton briefly on The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show.
