Biography
John Carter (26 November 1927 – 23 May 2015) was an American actor. Born in Center Ridge, Arkansas, he appeared in films including Badlands (1973) as the Rich Man, Scarface (1983) as Vic Phillips, and The Hoax (2006) as Harold McGraw. His other film credits include The Andromeda Strain (1971), Joe Kidd (1972), Celebrity (1998) and Random Hearts (1999).
On television he had guest roles in series such as Little House on the Prairie, The A-Team, MacGyver and Law & Order. He was best known for his recurring role as Police Lieutenant John Biddle on Barnaby Jones (1973–1980) and directed two episodes of the series. Carter was the brother of actor Conlan Carter.
