Biography
John Dehner (born John Forkum) was an American actor in radio, television and film. Between 1941 and 1988 he appeared in over 260 productions. Earlier in his career he worked as an assistant animator at Walt Disney Studios on features including Fantasia (1940) and Bambi (1942), and later as a radio announcer, news editor and disc jockey.
He played Claude Tobin in the 1958 Western Man of the West. Other film roles include Pat Garrett in The Left-Handed Gun (1958), Henry Luce in The Right Stuff (1983) and the judge in Jagged Edge (1985). On television he appeared in series such as Bonanza, Columbo, Mission: Impossible and The Twilight Zone; on radio he starred as Paladin in Have Gun – Will Travel.
