Biography
John Hoogenakker is an American actor. Born on 23 April 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina, he trained at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, graduating with a BFA in 1999. He began his career on stage, appearing in productions at Chicago venues including the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Goodman Theatre and Steppenwolf Garage.
On screen, Hoogenakker is known for his role as Randy Ramseyer in the 2021 Hulu limited series Dopesick. He has also appeared as Matice in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (2018–2019), Lt. Spellman in Chicago Fire, Carl Wilkes in Castle Rock (2019) and Andy Montgomery in The Morning Show. Film credits include Public Enemies (2009), Contagion (2011) and One Battle After Another (2025).
