Biography
John Hora (1940–2021) was an American cinematographer. Born in Pasadena, California, he graduated from the University of Southern California film school and became a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
He was best known for his long collaboration with director Joe Dante, serving as director of photography on The Howling (1981), Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Gremlins (1984), Explorers (1985), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) and Matinee (1993). His other credits include Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992) and Moonwalker (1988).
Hora also worked on large-format and documentary projects, including IMAX films, and served on the ASC Board of Governors.
