Biography
John Longden (also credited as John Longdon) was an English actor. He was born on 11 November 1900 in the West Indies and died on 26 May 1971 in London.
Longden appeared in more than 80 films between 1926 and 1964. He played Detective Frank Webber in Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail (1929) and had roles in four other Hitchcock films: Juno and the Paycock (1930), The Skin Game (1931), Young and Innocent (1937) and Jamaica Inn (1939). Earlier he had worked as a mining engineer before entering repertory theatre and silent films. He was married to the actress Jean Jay.
