Biography
John Mylong, also credited as Adolf Heinrich Münz or Jack Mylong-Münz, was an Austrian actor who later worked in Hollywood. Born on 27 September 1892, he trained at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and began his career on stage and in silent films in Austria and Germany from the early 1920s, appearing in numerous productions and writing several screenplays.
Following the rise of the Nazis, he emigrated to the United States in the 1930s. Under the name John Mylong he became a character actor in over 170 film and television roles, often playing supporting parts in features such as For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943), Unconquered (1947), His Kind of Woman (1951), Robot Monster (1953) as the Professor, Magnificent Obsession (1954) and episodes of I Love Lucy and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He became a US citizen in 1948 and retired in the early 1960s.
