Biography
John Orloff is an American screenwriter, television creator and producer. Born on 14 February 1966 in Los Angeles, California, he studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career working in television commercials before writing a spec screenplay that led to his involvement with the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers (2001).
Orloff wrote two episodes of Band of Brothers, "Day of Days" and "Why We Fight", for which he received an Emmy nomination and a Christopher Award. He later created, wrote and co-executive produced the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air (2024). His feature screenplays include A Mighty Heart (2007), Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010), Anonymous (2011) and The Last Vermeer (2019), the last credited under the name James McGee.
