Biography
John Peverall (1931–2009) was a British film producer and assistant director. He began working in film as an assistant director in 1958 and contributed to more than thirty productions through the mid-1970s, including The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959), The Damned (1962), Khartoum (1966) and From Beyond the Grave (1974). He later moved into production roles.
Peverall served as associate producer on The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), The Land That Time Forgot (1974) and Quadrophenia (1979). He received a producer credit on The Deer Hunter (1978) and shared the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1979 with the other producers. He also worked as associate producer on the television series Arthur of the Britons and executive producer on The Far Pavilions (1984).
