Biography
John W. Considine Jr. (1898–1961) was an American film producer active from the mid-1920s into the 1940s. He worked for companies including Joseph M. Schenck Productions, Fox and MGM, where he joined in 1932. His credits include The Son of the Sheik (1926), Puttin' on the Ritz (1930), Dancing Lady (1933), Mad Love (1935) and Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935).
Considine studied at Stanford, Yale, Oxford and Heidelberg before entering the film industry. He produced several MGM successes such as Boys Town (1938), Of Human Hearts (1938), Young Tom Edison (1940), Edison, the Man (1940) and Johnny Eager (1941). Broadway Melody of 1936 received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
He was the son of vaudeville impresario John Considine and was married to Carmen Elrene Pantages.
