Biography
Jon Cowan is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a playwright and received an MFA from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television.
He has written episodes for series including Bones (2005), Private Practice (2007), Suits (2011), Crossing Jordan (2001), Pure Genius (2016) and Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector (2020). He has also worked as a producer on many of these programmes, including as showrunner on Private Practice and executive producer on Suits.
More recent credits include writing for Alert: Missing Persons Unit (2023) and Suits LA (2025). His first novel, Proof, was published in 2025.
