Biography
Kate Woods is an Australian film and television director. She began her career in Australia, becoming the first woman to direct for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1984. She directed episodes of series including Phoenix, GP and Janus, and made her feature film debut with Looking for Alibrandi (2000).
Woods moved to the United States in 2005. She has directed episodes of numerous American series, including House (2004), Person of Interest (2011), Rectify (2013), Bones, Suits, Castle, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Umbrella Academy (2019). Her Australian credits include six episodes of the miniseries Changi (2001).
Woods received the Australian Directors' Guild Michael Carson Award for Excellence in Television Drama Direction in 2008. Her feature Looking for Alibrandi won five Australian Film Institute awards, including Best Film.
