Biography

David Platt is an American television director and producer. He began his career in the sound department as a boom operator on films including Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) before moving into directing in the mid-1990s.

Platt is best known for his extensive work on the Law & Order franchise, directing 29 episodes of Law & Order (1996–2005) and 54 episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2000–2010). He has also directed episodes of The Wire (the 2006 episode 'Alliances'), House (five episodes), Suits, The Blacklist, Marvel's Agent Carter, Elementary, Lie to Me, The Good Wife and other series.
