Biography

Jonathan Hadary is an American actor. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, he attended Tufts University, where he performed in student productions. During his sophomore year he joined the Boston company of the musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown as an understudy and later toured with the show.

Hadary made his New York stage debut in the 1976 off-Broadway production of Gemini, which transferred to Broadway. His subsequent theatre credits include the original off-Broadway run of As Is (for which he received an Obie Award), Broadway appearances in Gypsy (1990 Tony Award nomination), Angels in America and Awake and Sing!, and the role of King Arthur in Spamalot. On screen he has appeared in the films A Time to Kill (1996), Private Parts (1997) and Intolerable Cruelty (2003), and in television series including Miami Vice, Sex and the City, Law & Order, Veep and Russian Doll (2019).
