Biography

Josée Deshaies is a French-Canadian cinematographer. She trained in Montreal after studying art history in Italy and has worked in film since the mid-1990s.

She is known for her long collaboration with director Bertrand Bonello, serving as director of photography on films including The Pornographer (2001), House of Tolerance (2011), Saint Laurent (2014) and The Beast (2024). Her other credits include Passages (2023), Babysitter (2022) and A Brother’s Love (2019).

Deshaies has received two César Award nominations for Best Cinematography, for House of Tolerance and Saint Laurent.
