Biography
Josette Simon is a British actress. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and played Dayna Mellanby in the third and fourth series of the television series Blake's 7 (1980–1981).
Simon has had a substantial stage career with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in over 50 productions and becoming the first Black actress to play a leading Shakespearean role with the company. She received the Evening Standard Award for Best Actress and a Critics' Circle Theatre Award for her performance in Arthur Miller's After the Fall. She was appointed OBE in 2000 for services to drama.
Her screen credits include roles in Wonder Woman (2017), Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019), The Witcher (2019), Broadchurch (2013) and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (2025).
