Biography
Josh Pate is an American screenwriter, director and producer. Born on 15 January 1970 in Raeford, North Carolina, he is the twin brother of filmmaker Jonas Pate. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992.
Pate began his career writing and directing films with his brother, including The Grave (1996) and Deceiver (1997). He has co-created the television series Good vs Evil (1999), Surface (2005) and Outer Banks (2020). In 2006 he directed an episode of Friday Night Lights. His other writing credits include episodes of Moonlight (2007), Falling Skies (2011), Legends (2014) and Blood & Oil (2015).
