Biography
Judith Kaufmann is a German cinematographer. Born on 20 September 1962 in Stuttgart, she grew up in Berlin and trained at the National College of Optics and Photography there before apprenticing as a photographer.
She worked as a camera assistant from 1982 under cinematographers including Konrad Kotowski, Gernot Roll and Raoul Coutard, and became a director of photography in 1991. Her credits include Four Minutes (2006), 13 Minutes (2015), The Divine Order (2017), Corsage (2022), The Teachers' Lounge (2023) and Gentle Monster (2026). She co-directed Two Lives (2012) and has received several German Camera Awards and other honours.
