Biography
Julie Fong is a producer whose credits include feature films, music videos, commercials and television. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in Motion Picture/TV Production and began her career producing music videos, later moving into commercials for clients including Nike, Pepsi, BMW, Diet Coke and Gap.
Fong has maintained a long collaboration with director Michel Gondry, beginning with the 1993 Levi’s commercial “Drugstore”, which won multiple awards including the Lion d’Or at Cannes. Their joint work encompasses music videos for artists such as Björk, the Chemical Brothers, the White Stripes and Kanye West, as well as the feature films Human Nature (2001), Dave Chappelle’s Block Party (2005) and Be Kind Rewind (2008). She serves as general manager of Gondry’s company Partizan.
In 1993 Fong won a Grammy Award for producing the music video longform Sting: Ten Summoner’s Tales. She previously worked at ZM Productions as executive in charge of production on telefilms, documentaries and specials.
