Biography
Julio Oscar Mechoso (also credited as Julio Mechoso) was a Cuban-American character actor. Born on 31 May 1955 in Matanzas, Cuba, he was raised in Miami and began his career in 1979 on the PBS series ¿Qué pasa, U.S.A.? He appeared in over 120 film and television roles until his death on 25 November 2017 in Burbank, California.
Mechoso played supporting parts in films including Bad Boys (1995), Jurassic Park III (2001), Phone Booth (2003), Little Miss Sunshine (2006) as the Mechanic, Planet Terror (2007) and The Legend of Zorro (2005). On television he appeared in episodes of Seinfeld (1989), Grey's Anatomy (2005), The Big Bang Theory (2007) and Greetings from Tucson. He frequently collaborated with Andy Garcia and Robert Rodriguez.
