Biography
Justine Mitchell is an Irish actress. She was born in Dublin in 1973 and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television since the late 1990s.
She is known for roles including Elaine Lynch in the series Smother (2021–2023), Joan in the film Hamnet (2025), Sarah McCorquodale in The Crown (2016), Laura in Imagine Me & You (2006), Emma in Black Doves (2024) and Adult Janette in Derry Girls (2018). Other credits include appearances in Industry (2020), Conversations with Friends (2022) and The Stag (2013).
Mitchell has a substantial stage career with productions at the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Abbey Theatre and Gate Theatre. She received a UK Theatre Award for For Services Rendered and an Irish Times/ESB Theatre Award for Bash and Blithe Spirit.
