Biography
Kaaren Verne was a German-born actress who worked in British and American film and television. Born Ingeborg Greta Katerina Marie-Rose Klinckerfuss in Berlin on 6 April 1918, she was originally a stage actress and member of the Berlin State Theatre. She fled Nazi Germany in 1938 and made her English-language screen début in the British film Ten Days in Paris (1940).
After emigrating to the United States, Verne appeared in numerous films, including All Through the Night (1942), Kings Row (1942) as Elise Sandor, Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon (1942), The Seventh Cross (1944), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), Ship of Fools (1965) and Madame X (1966). She also had television roles, among them in The Twilight Zone. She died in Los Angeles on 23 December 1967.
