Biography
Karel Roden is a Czech actor born on 18 May 1962 in České Budějovice. He graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and followed his father and grandfather into the profession.
Roden began his career in Czech theatre and film in the 1980s. He gained international recognition with roles in Hollywood productions, including Grigori Rasputin in Hellboy (2004), Yuri Gretkov in The Bourne Supremacy (2004), Kounen in Blade II (2002), Uri Omovich in RocknRolla (2008) and Dr. Värava in Orphan (2009). He has also worked in voice acting, including for Grand Theft Auto IV.
Roden has received several Czech Lion Award nominations and won for Best Actor for Guard No. 47.
