Biography
Katharina Lorenz is a German actress. Born on 19 December 1978 in Leverkusen, she trained at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in Munich from 1999 to 2002. She began her career on stage, appearing at theatres including the Münchner Kammerspiele, Deutsches Theater Berlin and Schauspiel Hannover, before joining the ensemble of the Wiener Burgtheater in the 2008/2009 season.
Her screen debut came in 2004 with a role in Kammerflimmern. She has since appeared in films including Rückkehr der Störche (2007), Lou Andreas-Salomé (2016), in which she played the title role, Corsage (2022) as Marie Festetics, and Blame Game (2019). Television credits include the series Der Tel-Aviv-Krimi as Sara Stein and episodes of Tatort. In 2026 she appeared as Maike in Gentle Monster.
Lorenz received the Nachwuchsschauspielerin des Jahres award from Theater heute in 2006 and the Förderpreis der Akademie der Künste in 2008. She has also been nominated for Nestroy awards.
