Biography
Kazuo Ishiguro is a British novelist and screenwriter. Born in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1954, he moved with his family to England at the age of five. He studied English and philosophy at the University of Kent and creative writing at the University of East Anglia, earning a master's degree in 1980.
His novels include The Remains of the Day (1989), which won the Booker Prize, and Never Let Me Go (2005). Film adaptations of his work include the 1993 screen version of The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go (2010). He wrote the screenplay for the 2022 film Living, an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's Ikiru.
Ishiguro was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017.
