Biography
Keefus Ciancia is an American film and television composer, music producer and musician. Born in Denver, Colorado, he trained as a classical pianist and received scholarships to the University of North Texas and USC. He moved to Los Angeles in 1991, where he worked as a session musician in hip-hop before forming bands including Weapon of Choice.
Ciancia has composed scores for London Spy (2015), for which he shared an Ivor Novello Award for Best Television Soundtrack; Killing Eve (2018–2022), which earned a BAFTA for Best Television Soundtrack; and True Detective (2014–2019), which received an Emmy nomination. He has frequently collaborated with David Holmes on projects including The Fall (2013–2016) and Mindhorn (2016), and earlier worked with T-Bone Burnett on True Detective and other scores. Other credits include As Above, So Below (2014), Diana (2013), Strangerland (2015), Made for Love (2021) and Eric (2024).
