Biography
Keiko Deguchi is a film editor who has worked on both narrative features and documentaries. Born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1962, she moved to New York in 1985 to study cinema at New York University and began working as an editor in 1987. She is based in New York City.
Deguchi has edited numerous independent films, including Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006), We the Animals (2018) and Hustle (2022). Her documentary credits include In a Dream (2008), Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project (2019) and Paper & Glue (2021). She edited four episodes of the 2025 series Task and the documentary Love+War (2025).
She received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Editing for We the Animals and a News and Documentary Emmy Award nomination for Love+War.
