Biography
Kenneth More (20 September 1914 – 12 July 1982) was an English actor. After serving in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, he appeared in supporting roles in films including Scott of the Antarctic (1948) before achieving stardom in the 1950s.
More starred in comedies such as Genevieve (1953) and Doctor in the House (1954), and in dramatic leads including Reach for the Sky (1956) and A Night to Remember (1958), in which he played Second Officer Charles Herbert Lightoller. He also appeared in Sink the Bismarck! (1960) and North West Frontier (1959).
His career included a notable television role as Young Jolyon Forsyte in the BBC series The Forsyte Saga (1967). More was appointed CBE in 1970. His third wife was the actress Angela Douglas.
