Biography

Kevin Jarre was an American screenwriter, producer and actor. He wrote the screenplay for the 1989 historical drama Glory, based on the story of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War.

Jarre also wrote the story for Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) and the screenplays for Tombstone (1993) and The Devil's Own (1997), and provided the story for The Mummy (1999). He began directing Tombstone but was replaced early in production. Jarre was born Kevin Noel Clark in Detroit in 1954 and adopted the surname of his stepfather, composer Maurice Jarre. He died in Santa Monica in 2011.
