Biography
Kevork Malikyan is a British-Armenian actor and teacher. Born on 2 June 1943 in Diyarbakır, Turkey, to Armenian parents, he trained for the priesthood at the Surp Haç Armenian High School Seminary in Istanbul before moving to London in 1963. He received diplomas in acting and teaching from Rose Bruford College.
Malikyan is known for playing Kazim in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), Max Papandrious in the sitcom Mind Your Language (1977–1979), the prosecutor in Midnight Express (1978), and Rady in Flight of the Phoenix (2004). He has appeared in films including Taken 2 (2012), Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) and The Promise (2016), and television series such as Homeland and Vikings: Valhalla. His stage work includes productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Malikyan has worked with directors including Steven Spielberg and Alan Parker, and continues to act in film, television and theatre while teaching in Istanbul.
