Biography
Kim Stanley (born Patricia Reid) was an American actress. She was born on 11 February 1925 in Tularosa, New Mexico, and died on 20 August 2001 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
She began her career in theatre and studied at the Actors Studio. Stanley appeared in Broadway productions including Picnic (1953) and Bus Stop (1955), and received Theatre World and Tony Award nominations. She performed extensively in 1950s television.
Her film roles include The Goddess (1958), the narrator (uncredited) in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), Séance on a Wet Afternoon (1964), Frances (1982) and Pancho Barnes in The Right Stuff (1983). She received Academy Award nominations for the latter two films and a Primetime Emmy Award for a 1984 television adaptation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
