Biography
Ko Shibasaki, also credited as Kô Shibasaki or 柴咲 コウ, is a Japanese actress and singer. She was born Yukie Yamamura on 5 August 1981 in Toshima, Tokyo.
She began her career after being discovered by a talent agent at the age of 14 and made her film debut in Battle Royale (2000) as Mitsuko Souma. She received acclaim for her role in GO (2001) and has appeared in films including One Missed Call (2003), Memories of Matsuko (2006), Dororo (2007), Suspect X (2008) and 47 Ronin (2013). She provided the voice of Kiriko in The Boy and the Heron (2023).
Shibasaki began releasing music in 2002 and is managed by Stardust Promotion.
